JON AND JOLENE HAMMER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED
Posted on 03/23/2021
March 23, 2021, Allentown, PA – Thanks to the Jon and Jolene Hammer family, the ASD Foundation will be awarding a new scholarship this year.

“We thank the Hammer family for allowing us to provide a new scholarship to a senior at William Allen High School for not just one year, but three consecutive years,” says Julie Ambrose, ASDF Executive Director.

A 3-YEAR EXPENDABLE  SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship was created by Jon, a 1987 graduate of William Allen High School, and his wife, Jolene Hammer. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance for a William Allen High School graduating senior, who might not otherwise be able to attend a four-year college or university.  Beginning in 2021, with an initial gift of $1,500, it will provide three consecutive $500 annual scholarships.

The eligible recipient will be a deserving graduating senior enrolling at a four year college or university, with preference given to students attending St. Joseph’s University or Arcadia University. The student will be selected by a process determined by the principal of William Allen High School.

The Senior Scholarship program was founded in 2013 and has grown to offer annually more than 60 scholarships every year to students of William Allen High School, Louis E. Dieruff High School and Building 21. Both expendable and endowed scholarships are managed by a professional fund manager and supervised by the ASDF Investment Committee.
