School Mascot Face Masks in Production, Thanks to Donors

October 28, 2020, Allentown, PA – The ASD Foundation (ASDF) has been reaching out to area donors to help purchase face masks for all students and staff in the Allentown School District, with each mask emblazoned with the student's school mascot.  "We felt as a team that the mascots on the masks would be a great way to show school pride and appreciate the community rallying behind this effort to support our students," says Nancy Wilt, ASDF Secretary (and also a member of the ASD Board of Directors). The cost for 19,456 face masks, made of washable cotton and elastic straps (see photos), is approximately $60,000. Delivery is planned to the schools before the winter holiday. The masks are made in the USA. Kim Eberts, owner of Profits Plus, Inc., is handling project coordination.

“Because the ASDF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, individuals and corporations are able to claim charitable tax deductions while contributing directly to specific school district initiatives using the Foundation,” says Susan L. Williams, ASDF Executive Director. "There are still five schools that could use sponsors of their masks," she says. "Please contact me if you know of any donors who may want to contribute."
