Wondering What We Do?

The Allentown School District Foundation supplements the academic program by providing students with moments and experiences that are not normally planned for in the District's budget. Prior to Covid, the ASDF directly impacted more than 10,000 Allentown School District students with innovative, enriched programming and in 2022-23 we nearly reached that amount again. The ASDF manages a Volunteer Literacy program for kindergarten and first grade, and oversees the graduating senior scholarship program awarding about $75,000 per year. The Foundation raises the funds and provides programmatic support for initiatives in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM), the performing arts, civic education and literacy. Teacher Innovation Grants (TIG) are funded each fall to inspire teachers and reward excellence. Several ASDF programs grew from TIG projects. The strategic plan adopted in 2023 also calls for expansion in workforce development in alignment with ASD's work in that area. Please read the Annual Report for additional information about the2022-23 program year. Additional programming highlights are below.:
