ASD Foundation Announces Danielle Trevorah Memorial Scholarship
Posted on 12/19/2023

Allentown, PA (December 19, 2023) – The Allentown School District Foundation announced today the creation of a $500 per year Danielle Trevorah Memorial Scholarship.

This fund has been established in memory of Danielle Trevorah, a Dieruff High School alumnae and employee of the District for almost 40 years. At the time of her passing in December 2022, she served as the Executive Assistant for the Human Resources Department. Danielle’s love of Allentown goes well beyond the work she did and the connections she formed with colleagues and staff. She was also the proud parent of four children, and both her daughters currently work for the District - Alexa, a teacher at Hays Elementary School, and Mia, a Human Resources Department clerical.

The scholarship will be funded by Danielle’s friends and colleagues for at least three years.  The selected recipients will be graduating seniors from Dieruff High School, Allen High School, or Building 21 High School on a rotating basis. Students who receive the scholarship will be someone who plans to attend a 2- or 4-year post-secondary program, have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have demonstrated they are a good citizen of the ASD by participating in school and community activities.

If you would like to contribute to the scholarship, you can send a check payable to ASD Foundation, 31 South Penn Street, Allentown, PA  18102.  Please indicate your contribution is for the scholarship by writing “Danielle Trevorah Memorial Scholarship” on the memo line.  Since ASD Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your gift is tax-deductible.

Scholarships can greatly reduce the cost of continuing one’s education, sometimes making the decision to go to college possible. Julia Eschner, a 2023 Allen High School graduate and ASD Foundation scholarship winner attending Drexel University stated, "Being a scholarship recipient has shown me the true value of hard work.  It’s a great relief to have some of the financial burden of college taken off my back.  Not only do I know that my scholastic efforts have paid off, but I also know that there are amazing people by my side supporting me through it all and inspiring me to achieve my dreams.”
