ALLENTOWN, PA — Calling all car enthusiasts!  The Allentown School District Foundation (ASDF) is excited to announce a unique opportunity thanks to an anonymous donor. ASDF is partnering with RB Collection of Allentown to sell a classic car that was recently donated to the foundation. The proceeds from the sale of the car will be donated to the ASDF.

ASDF officially unveiled the car to the media and members of their board at the RB Collection Showroom on Tuesday, April 19 at 11 AM.

The donated vehicle, a 1967 MGB Convertible Roadster appraised beautifully and is available  now for the right buyer! The MGB is a stylish two-door sports car manufactured and marketed from 1962 until 1980 by the British Motor Corporation (BMC), later the Austin-Morris division of British Leyland, as a four cylinder, soft-top sports car that offered good performance at an affordable price.

This classic is already on display online at https://www.rbcarcollection.com/product-page/1967-mgb-roadster and will be physically in the showroom located at 107 Hamilton St. in Allentown. RB Collection is a locally owned and operated company that restores & sells classic cars in the Lehigh Valley and around the world.

“The Allentown School District Foundation is always open to exploring new fundraising ideas that come our way and knew this one was one we had to explore further,” said Josh Dodd, Treasurer of the ASDF. “Other districts have successfully auctioned, raffled or sold cars to benefit students and we are excited to connect with car enthusiasts in the Lehigh Valley & possibly beyond.”

This beautiful car received a nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration that was completed around the year 2015. It retains its original numbers-matching engine and is finished in its original color scheme of Pale Primrose Yellow over a black upholstery. The early history is unknown, though the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate reveals it is an original US-market car, completed in April 1967, and equipped from new with wire wheels, heater, black tonneau cover, ash tray, and foldaway hood.

RB Collection is honored to offer this well-restored and attractive 1967 MGB Roadster that was donated to Allentown School District Foundation by the previous owner with all proceeds benefiting ASDF, an institution that directly impacted more than 10,000 students.

This is a rare opportunity to own a nicely restored and documented MGB, while aiding the Allentown School District Foundation. “We are extremely grateful to the car donor and to Al and Alex Ruozzi, owners of RB Collection, for their good counsel and services facilitating this sale,” added Julie Ambrose, ASDF Executive Director.
